LiMa Seafood was born with a clear vision: to transform underutilized seafood by-products into high-value, affordable food solutions without compromising on quality, and ultimately achieve zero waste in the food chain.
Creating values and benefiting others and serving a good purpose in all our business operations.
Our journey began a decade ago with S. Iceland ehf, a pioneer in Icelandic fish by-product processing. Starting in Hafnarfjörður, we have kept developing various products by utilizing the side- stream fish product and delivering good-quality food to the seafood supply chain.
Six years ago, we acquired our current processing facility near Keflavík International Airport, featuring:
– 3,000 m² processing space
– 60 tons vertical freezing capacity
– 40 tons horizontal freezing capacity
– Automatic cleaning and dosing equipment
– On-site Lab performing tests like TVBN, dry matter, moisture test, etc, daily
Today, LiMa Seafood continues its passion in sustainability and seafood innovation, keeps delivering affordable, quality products without compromising on safety or integrity.
